Wesuit for Prone Paddler
By Bill from San Clemente from San Clemente, CA on 1/7/2012
Size: Feels true to size
Prone paddling involves laying or kneeling on a long narrow board,
12 to 18.5 feet long.  I bought a long john for maximum freedom of movement for my arms and shoulders, and maximum warmth on
those chilly days.  This wetsuit is very good for this, with one minor
problem: the shoulder closure. This is a snap with velcro on the left
side shoulder and its a little less comfortable than the right shoulder
without snap. I have used it on paddles of over 6 miles without any
sore spots, but as the season goes on I expect much longer paddles. For my application a back zipper would be better. Of course prone paddling is a small sport and there is no way a company is going to develop a wetsuit just for us!  Some good points are the
smooth chest area, very comfy, and the peforations at the ankle for
drainage. Nothing worse than the "balloon" effect most wetsuits get
when water is trapped at the ankle. All in all this is a very good suit
and the best I have found for prone paddling.
