These are great. They allow the kids to still go under the water unlike life jackets.. but will bring them back up if they stop going down.. Will assist them, will not keep them entirely up either, not a life jacket. Nice assist vest to get some comfort in deeper water, but will not save them, but we feel safer in the pool when your child doesn't want to wear a life jacket but is not the strongest swimmer yet knows how to swim but just needs a little something in-between.. Nice and thin, so far no irritations or chaffing under the arms!
