I use this belt to train for endurance in my backyard pool. I hook it around a piece of furniture and swim for 30 minute blocks at a time without ever having to do a flip turn. I''ve used all four strokes with it and the only thing the cord slightly inhibits is breaststroke legs, but only marginally.
I am not a veteran swimmer, so the medium weight resistance works perfectly. If you wanted to power strokes and have the strength you may want to go with heavy weight size.
I highly recommend this product for limited space training or just overall fitness :)
