I wanted these for a waterpark adventure. I wear a size 14 and needed to get the XL. Board shorts are a snug fit and these look great. They were great for up and down the waterslides and hanging around without all my "stuff" hanging out, and fit well enough that they didn't balloon in the water. The price was right, too!
