Camera didn't work.  Had to return.

After researching numerous cameras for my trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, I concluded that price didn't seem to be a big factor in how waterproof cameras are.  Virtually all I looked at sub $300 had multiple reviews stating how after the first dunking, the camera died.  The speedo had mostly good reviews so I gave it a try.  Before I ever brought it in the field, I had severe problems turning it on.  It just wouldn't boot.  It would show the Speedo logo and then just chime and not make it to picture making mode.  The ONLY way I could stop it and try again was to open the battery compartment and TAKE OUT THE BATTERY.   Eventually, I found the best chance of getting it to boot properly was to open the battery compartment, leaving the battery still in place and then turning on.  Once on, I would then close the battery compartment.  This type of workaournd while approaching a rapids on the river was basically a joke.  Am going to return this camera for a refund.

This camera is very easy to use and takes fantastic pictures as well as video underwater.  We took it scuba diving in Bermuda and the pictures are very clear and sharp.  Great camera for the price!

Taking pictures underwater does take practice and experimentation.   I found the default settings were the best for taking pictures in an indoor pool.  Setting the camera to underwater turned on the flash and was too bright.  It also takes practice to get used to the delay between pushing the button and taking the actual picture. Still pics were fine!  Moving targets were tough but the video capability solved that. Also would recommend the purchase of additonal memory.  The camera is hardwired for only a very few pictures so would not have allowed all of the needed experimentation.  Summary - we now have some unique pictures of our grandchildren!!
