I am an AARP member trying to improve my fitness level... any way I can. These resistance gloves really increase my pool workouts. I've taken two strokes off my pool length and several minutes off my 1 K time so far. I can tell I'm working harder and it feels GOOD. However, the sizing is a bit strange. The hand/wrist diameter is perfect for a medium but the thumb/index finger are so long they completely cover mine. Because the web is at the end of the fingertips, it makes grasping a buoy or doing pull-ups difficult. And I have "long, piano-playing" fingers!
I chose the black ones to match my unitard
I've used them three times now, and the threading that separates the fingers on one hand is coming apart already. I would expect something that is used for athletic training would be double-stitched, but this is not.Aside from that aspect, the gloves fit well. The open fingers are a plus. Easy to use, and the resistance added is noticeable but not overly so as with paddles. Thus likelihood of shoulder injuries are decreased.
I use the gloves with and without a pull buoy to build strength in my shoulders and to improve stroke quality. They work !The gloves go on easier when wet and are less cumbersome than paddles.Water is retained in the material and unless you have a place for the gloves to drain while drying, this can be a problem
The wrist is narrower and the cuff shorter than TYR, my previous brand, of the same size. The gloves, however, appear to be sturdy and of good quality. I use them in my water arobics class. This brand would be a better choice for a thinner, non arthritic hand.
Very comfortable in the water.
