This cap fits well and is a nice alternative to most of the swim caps that are designed mostly for real swimming racers...and thus tight with thin material...hard to get on, especially if you have longer hair. This cap has a nice thickness to keep your head warm if you are swimming in cool water. It is easy to get on and off and is comfortable.
Started swimming regularly about a year ago and found a 'new' rubber cap in the attic that must have been purchased 30 years ago. Finally decided to buy a newer version and have been using this one for a couple months. It is a good replica of the original: thick and strong. I pin up my hair then put it on. So far the pins have not poked through. I use a SWiMP3 music player attached to my goggles and the cap stays in place. I also use ear plugs and this cap helps keep them from coming loose.Just wish they were offered in colors. I'm tempted to take permanent markers and decorate the caps myself.
While latex caps are widely used by younger swimmers, I prefer this one because it doesn't feel like my head is being squeezed. Comfort is a must for me, especially in pulling it over my hair. To keep the smoothness of the inside, however, one must faithfully dry this cap throughly, inside out.
I agree with Connie's comments. Personally, I like the caps because I get migraines so I like to avoid things that are tight on my head. (like all other caps I've tried) And this really doesn't pull my hair, though I can't judge what it would do on longer hair. Yeah, the creases stay in it so it looks a little retro, but if you care more about comfort this is for you. Really, so far no one has laughed in my face about it yet, so it's good enough for me.
This cap is large enough to be comfortable. Not completely watertight but keeps most of hair dry and protected from chlorine. The quality has gone down over the past few years: the caps are smaller and they tear easily along the rim, so they have to be replaced more often. But the price is reasonable.
