Now you can get the kick you need from the candy you love! It is widely believed that low blood glucose levels contribute to fatigue during prolonged exercise. Research has shown that consuming carbohydrate supplements during exercise can improve endurance performance by maintaining blood glucose levels and muscle carbohydrate stores, and a recent study conducted by the UC Davis Sports Medicine Program showed that Sports Beans® jelly beans were just as effective as popular sports drinks and gels in maintaining blood sugar levels and improving exercise performance in competitive endurance athletes.

I liked the convenient pack and the concept of using single Jelly Beans to carefully dose the carbs. There is no mess like there is with Gu or Honey and I can use partial resealable bags without issue. The vitamins are nice touch. Note that this is not the jelly beans with caffeine. I only need a few jelly beans so the expense isn''t a big deal either.

I bought these to try out when at TKD tournaments. I'm not the best eater when travelling to tournaments. At tournaments it's not wise to have a too full a stomach before Sparring, so by the time it's the afternoon & my sparring event is up, I feel a little weak & these are just the ticket to get me thru the match, before a big feed afterwards. The do taste good too, all flavors. Better than those heavy chocolate energy bars. I have tried them once, so far so good. Thanks swimoulet.
