Born in Shiga, Japan in 1948, artist Hiro Yamagata has become respected internationally for his striking pop-art-inspired imagery, and he was given the honor of designing posters for the 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games.  This elegant depiction of synchronized swimmers is part of his Olympic poster series.
