Born in Shiga, Japan in 1948, artist Hiro Yamagata, has become known for his striking pop-art-inspired imagery. His intense depiction of a swimmer in the heat of the moment has earned him international respect and the honor of designing posters for the 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games.
