I packed this pack for a trip to Costa Rica where it rained a lot. During one particular downpour that I was out in for a few hours, the bag did get wet inside. However, I was the only one with a phone that still worked.

Took the pack on a boundary waters week-long canoe trip - strapped it to the canoe while traveling - it withstood a soaking rainy day, as well as a water war no problem and kept everything clean, organized and completely dry.  Had lots of space inside.  Also wore it while portaging and it was very comfortable. I had to hook carabiners and water bottle to the strap, so I do wish it had a carabiner 'hook' on it.
