Size: Feels too small

They seem to small when I wear them and that may be the cause of all my other problems. I teach swimming lessons and the bottom of the pool  scrapes up my feet. I usually wear normal socks and when they get holes I throw them away. I figured with these socks they would last me a long time but they have holes in the toe area and the bottom seams are started to rip out. It has been 3 weeks since I got them and I only wear them twice a week. I figured they would last longer than that but what can you do. I will try one more pair getting the one size up and maybe that will  fix my problems.
