Steve Haufler's creative use of training aids, such as mirrors, noodles and Styrofoam heads, has contributed to his reputation as one of the best stroke teachers in the world. In this instructional DVD Steve shares his bag of tricks -- the tools and toys that have proven effective for thousands of swimmers – and how they work teaching students from beginner to advanced, from age-group to Masters. By watching Steve as he gives unrehearsed lessons to real swimmers, you'll see how he uses each tool to teach the basics, and how he uses tools to correct the stroke flaws that coaches see every day in their more advanced swimmers.
Instruction includes the use of: Mirrors: how to use them for teaching and improving all four strokes Styrofoam heads: the easiest way to get a swimmer's attention Tape measures: great for teaching streamline Score cards: got boys to teach? Swim dolls: why you will want one in every lane Kickboards: new uses Strapless paddles: how to develop "feel" for the water Laminated photos: a picture really is worth a 1000 words The rope: a fun backstroke tool Plastic cups: the fastest way to a steady head in backstroke Noodles: how to use them for improving backstroke and forward starts Plus, advice on the visual and verbal cues that will get FAST results

I really like this DVD. I'm always looking for new tricks, tools, toys, games, and ideas to keep swim practice fun while still learning. I received several good ideas from this video.

I have quite the collection of Go Swim videos and I love all of them, including this one. It has fantastic ideas for coaches of age group swimmers. However, the stroke videos I use again and again with my age groupers and high school swimmers. This one is kind of a one-time use. I might go back to it once or twice to review some of the tips, but I think I've gotten my money out of the others with the repeated viewings. I think this one should have been a few dollars less since it won't be viewed as often.
