I wear the cap for surfing on a stand up paddle (surf)board. The hat is durable and well made. I expect to keep it for a good while. It fits very well and is comfortable. The short visor blocks the sun, and the cap and visor keep the UV rays off my forehead while shading my vision. On the downside the cap bill is not very long so it won''t keep the sun off your face from your nose down. On the upside the bill does not block your vision when you prone paddle the board. This is important to me. The advertising says the bill can be flipped up but I haven''t found this to be true in any kind of practical way. The fabric that covers your ears is mesh so sounds are not muffled. On the downside, the wind can blow into the mesh which can be a bit chilly in cold weather. The cap while light, is not meant to provide meaningful insulation, however it does retain some warming qualities which is nice in colder weather. I bought this cap to replace another similar style of cap which is no longer made. I wish the cap was black and not gray which is just a personal preference. Overall I''m very satisfied with this cap. It fulfills the  intended purpose for which it was purchased.

love it.  It is a great fit Stays on.  THe only disappointment is I wish it had a longer flap in the back to cover my neck:)
