This suit fit my 8 year old son's waist, but he complained it did not "cover the Knee."  My son is average height.  I gave the suit to my 6 year old, who is big for his size.  The suit fit my 6 year old's waist, and covered the knee.  Personally, I thought the suit fit my 8 year old better, but I guess the kids want longer?
