even without the strap around the neck the top stayed in place at all times without slipping down.

I live by the Lake Texoma and during the summer I enjoy swimming in it. I was getting tanned all over minus where the bikini halter top's straps where so I bought this bandeaux in white (because it goes with all my bikinis) to get a more evenly tan. I wear it without the neck strap. I'm happy with this purchase, very well made and true to size.
