I bought this rash guard style swim shirt for the UV protection qualities that I need when swimming laps. I'm usually in the pool 4-5 days a week for 90 to 120 minutes each workout. Prior to getting this shirt I would go through a timely ordeal, washing and applying sun screen to my face and upper body, and no matter how "waterproof" all these lotions claim to be, they always wear off and I was still getting exposed to the sun's harmful radiation. It was a major pain. This shirt has now streamlined my preparation time since I only need to cover my face and neck with sun screen. It fits great based on Speedo's sizing chart. In addition, the cool stitching pattern has a very definite slimming effect. I still carry a little extra bouyancy around the middle but this shirt makes me appear like the V-shaped stud that I hope to become with lots more laps. It does add a bit of drag in the water but I'm sure all shirts in this category do the same (note: compression shirts are a different animal all together). And finally, at about $20.00, it was one of the more affordable swim shirts available with UV protection. I've only had it for about four weeks now so I cannot comment on it's durability. If Speedo comes out with this shirt in their new "Endurance" material, it will no doubt, last a lot longer. For now, I double wash this shirt with mild soap after every use so I'm hoping to get at least 5-6 months out of it before replacing. I highly recommend this shirt to all who worry about UV exposure. I'm sure it makes a great rash guard also.

I purchased this rashguard to stay comfortably warm in the lap pool in my fitness club. I am an older woman and layer shirts over my suits and treat them to a good 40 miles a week in the chlorine, which is pretty brutal. I haven't been using this shirt for very long, but so far it's doing well. The color is still true, the stitching is holding up well, and the shape is fine.
