The fin is made of hard plastic. It takes lots of core control to maintain balance. Once you achieve that, it becomes very productive tool on dolphin kicking & butterfly style. One big downfall is the strap unlocks itself constantly in the middle of a lap. The momentum/impact of the water just flushes that safety lock right off, then one side of the straps keeps coming off since the strap is one piece for both feet.

During use, it seems like it accomplishes the objective, but it is uncomfortable. I coach high school swimming so, it is way too small for my kids. I will use it with the girls and younger kids for short periods of time, but there was probably a better mono fin for my use. The problem was the cost. These were the least expensive.

I love my monofin! but I have a little trouble with the strap in the middle between your feet to,and when I ordered mine I ordered blue but when it came in I opened it up and it was yellow!The yellow color actually turned out to be pretty cool and I use my monofin all the time.

I was disappointed, not in the product, but the lack of info provided.
Maybe I didn't notice, but the size is for children. I bought it for swimming in the bay and it did not come close to fitting even one of my feet. It is a nice solid product but I must return it.

We use these fins in a swimming pool for fun and racing. They enhance our speed and we swim like fish. Love it!
We do have some trouble with the hook between the feet coming unhooked, otherwise, we are happy customers.

This fin was a hit with my daughters (ages 6 &9), and its overall performance was great. The heel strap was easy to adjust. There was some small complaints on the first day of use about uncomfortable rubbing on the tops of their feet. But, it seems to be OK now. I would recommend this product for a beginner.
