we use paddles to focus on water entry and making sure you don't drop your elbow in the water
The description of the product says they are appropriate for beginning male Masters swimmer which describes me. I haven't actually tried them yet but they look huge. I'm going to return them for a smaller size. I suppose it depends on how much force you want to use to push them but these paddles are considerably bigger than my hands.
I use the paddles to help increase my arm strength and put some variety in my training. Paddles are easy to assemble and use. My suggestion would be to put a few training tips on how to properly use the paddles.
I'm still getting used to them. I also like using star paddles which do not have a wrist strap. I recommend reading carefully the instructions that come with them because I was going to use them without the wrist strap and it says not to.
I love using these paddles in my workouts. They really work your upper body effectively. I got the size #2 paddles (yellow) after using my friend's size #1 paddles (green) for a year (I'm a 21-year-old female). I'd say they're a pretty good size for me, although if you're just starting to use paddles, I'd recommend beginning with the smaller size first before progressing. My only complaint with these paddles is that they start to hurt my hands after while, but it's not too bad. Definitely worth it for the value they add to my workout.
The standard.
