Until I began using the FINIS swimmer''s snorkel I''d suffered with a stiff neck, I supposed, from constantly having to do a pesky thing like breathing. I''m a fairly new swimmer (18 months) and have developed the habit of twisting only to the right to breathe. This resulted, I believe, in a "crick" in my neck. Since I''ve begun using the FINIS, the need to make that constant twist has become unnecessary and my neck is starting to feel better. Also, I can better concentrate on my stroke, kick, etc. I love it! (I''d initially thought that I might need to use a nose clip because I would now be "breathing underwater." Happily, it is not necessary).

After having shoulder surgery I got this snorkel so I could easily kick on my stomach without having to turn to breathe. When I first tried it I immediately knew how invaluable it would be for me….I could kick for days while using the snorkel! And now that I am starting to swim again, it has been a real life saver for my shoulders to not have to turn my head to breathe. This snorkel has been absolutely instrumental in my recovery process, and even when I am fully recovered I know I will still be using the snorkel, there are just so many benefits to even list here! It is amazing how aware you become of your stroke and your body position when you do not have to worry about breathing. It totally changes everything! I can now focus 100% on the little subtle things that will improve my strokes. Flip turns and purging are a breeze after a practice or two. I had a bit of nose burn for while as I was getting used to it, but then it was no longer a problem (just breathe out your nose if you''re feeling a bit of burn). The mouth piece is comfortable and everything has held up well in the 3 months I''ve had it. My only complaint has to do with strap placement and tightness. The snorkel will wobble around and migrate when you push off underwater if you have it too loose or not placed on your head correctly. However when I tighten things up so that the snorkel doesn''t wobble, I will start to get a headache from the pressure of the headband after a while. So I have gotten used to putting up with a little bit of wobbly-ness, and just re-adjusting when I can. Still, even with this issue, I cannot say enough good things about this snorkel!

I swim 3-4 times a week, but have had to cut back because of a neck injury. Using this snorkel has enabled me to keep swimming without the discomfort from nerve compression. Once I get more accustomed to it, I might even be able to do flip turns and make it faster.
