These are the only goggle i am able to wear and I love them so much! THey are comfortable, they don't leak, perfect to race in, I swim outside in California and for the most part these block out the sun. I will never be able to use any other type of goggle ever. I do get made fun a of a bit because they do look slightly ridiculous (because they are a little big) for a national level and collegiate althete
I swim about 2500 three or four times a week. I'm no speedster, so it takes me about an hour, so I need googles that are comfortable even when they are hanging onto my eye sockets for a long time. We all know it's always comfort vs leaks. These are OK on the leak side, but you have to make sure they are really seated well. They are mediocre on the comfort side. I'm still looking for something better.
This is the only style that remains watertight on my face. The drawback? The nose piece is hard and sharp and digs into my nose painfully leaving a mark and sometimes breaks the skin on long workouts. Unfortunately, I will be unable to continue wearing these goggles. Does anyone make the rubber gasket with a one-piece frame? I think this is the combination that will remain watertight AND not cut into my nose. By the way, I have a normal size nose. It's not wide, bumpy, or big and these goggle tear into the bridge of my nose. Not fun. Not comfortable.
I can only wear TYR Racetech goggles. For summer and outdoor swimming, the grey metallized can't be beat! I've tried other brands and even other TYR goggles. They don't hold the seal on my face and one brand even compressed a nerve in my face! That wasn't fun. Racetech for me all the way.
I swim at an outdoor pool, and these goggles are great for reducing glare and blocking UV rays. They fit so well on my face and the gaskets are very comfortable. I also use these in competition and have had relatively no problems with them! Great overall goggle.
Overall, the goggles are very comfortable and I was happy with the purchase. I bought two pair, good thing. I have been using the 1st pair every day now in the pool for about 10 days. I went to pull the goggles on yesterday, and the little black, plastic clip that holds the rubber strap in place near your temple broke. This black clip is also what hold the strap at the proper length. To fix the problem, I had to tie the rubber strap in a knot through the slot at the edge of the frame of the left goggle, rather than have the strap loop through and hold near the temple. They should consider making the “strap-clip” out of metal so it is not so prone to breaking.
