This suit works. My son doesn't get as cold in the water at the beach. Good for sun protection too. Runs small, buy one size larger.
the product was too small, it was rated up to a 65lb, but I don't think even a 50lb kid could fit in it.
We bought it for our daughter before enrolling her for swimming. My wife was looking for more conservative swimsuit for our daughter. My daughter feels really comfortable and not cold at all. My wife was worried about the zip, it is designed in a right so, no accidents can happen when kid pulls the zip.
My son uses this for swim team lessons. It helps keep him warmer, but not as well as I'd hoped. The quality is excellent, but the sizing is really small. My son is thin and slight for his age, but the suit is very tight and difficult to get on. Go one size bigger and it should work fine.
My son has been wearing this TYR suit for 3 years. (We bought a new one each summer.) He is very thin, and as a result, freezes when swimming. This suit has the most neoprene-like material of the choices, and it really keeps him warm. Maybe sized a bit small. He is average height for his age, right in the 50 percentile, and he started wearing the size 9/10 when he was 8. I wish they made bigger sizes, this is probably the last year he can fit in it.
We bought this thermal suit because my daughter is taking swim lessons in a pool that is not heated. Her first lesson she quit half way through, she was so cold she had purple lips. We came home ordered it and the next few weeks she has worn it and made it through every lesson. I am also excited that we have it for our trip to Mexico because it protects against uv rays. We absolutely love this product.
