Used my for my trip to Mexico and it was a great sun protection. Held up well when it got wet too.

I used the hat on a cruise and the windy in the windy conditions, it stayed on didn't have to be held on. The only thing i am concerned about is that there are places on the rim of the hat that the straw is protruding and i have to figure out how to keep it from going any furthur.
