I use this hat on a daily basis to teach surf lessons and then to surf afterwards and have yet to get burned. I will buy another one when this one runs it's course.

This hat is going to be great for my upcoming trip.  Love the secret pocket on top of the hat.  My only comment is, the cost of the hat is too pricey for something that is "made in China"!
