If you a recreational swimmer like myself who likes to push the envelope during workouts that is the perfect cap for both indoors and outdoors use. I bought it to protect my head and ears from cold sensation while swimming in the ocean where the temperatures do not get higher than comfortable 68-69 F (and only by the end of summer). At first I tried ear plugs, also from Aqua Sphere, but I lost them during the very first swim. With this cap I could spend more time in the ocean water and felt more comfortable. Ear pockets are great! No more jumping on one leg after swim to get water of my ears.In the pool I usually swim about 5 days a week, each time for an hour or so non stop. What I really like about this cap is that it does not pull hair and it DOES STAY ON when you push off the walls and then do a streamline glide underwater. Just follow the instructions on the packaging to put the cap on properly. Otherwise you can pinch it as I did on an accident. Now I am on my second Aqua Sphere Glide Swim Cap. The first one lasted for about a year and a half before I got it damaged. Without any hesitation I purchased the replacement. While waiting for the order to come in I tried other models, but they did not provide as much comfort in the water. Your swimming experience will become even greater if you add to this cap a pair of good leak proof goggles. I use SEAL Swim Mask (for open water) and Vista SEAL Swim Mask (for the pool). Their great peripheral vision during long workouts in the water is unsurpassed and I hardly get any salty or chlorinated water in my eyes due to the tight seal of both masks. So I can continue swimming while others need to stop frequently to clear their goggles or they just stay ashore.
Well fiting cap with complete ear coverage. Seems to have lasted well in chlorinated lap pool longer than traditional swim caps.
Others have suggested this cap could replace earplugs. Not the case for me. Water still comes into the cap and my ears. I am personally more comfortable with a lycra cap and earplugs. Personal preference. Also expensive.
I thought the extended cap with the ears would get less water inside the cap but it actually gets more trapped inside. Stick with a regular silicone cap.
This swim cap covered my ears so well I didn't need to use ear plugs. I was delighted. The silver color reminded me of Tin Man. I would buy a different color if this one ever needs replaced.
I bought this cap for the ear pockets. I wear earplugs and the ordinary caps slip up a little and pull at my plugs letting in water. This cap stays down and took care of the problem. It slips a little but not enought to bother my ear plugs.
