  • 1/5/2015 Great Product

    rating star By Coach

This snorkel works great.  The different pieces for the different distances help considerably with the breathing.  My son loves it and uses it every day.

  • 6/24/2014 Tyr snorkel

    rating star By Yaffa

Have been using it daily for a year now and enjoyed it immensely.
It stays on and does not 'integrate'. Does not let water easily in and does not tilt sideways on my head!!!
Actually I intend buying some for all my grandchildren..

  • 6/4/2014 Be cautious. Doesn't hold up for very long

    rating star By Bret F.

Cheap. Design flaws.  One use, the strap assembly came apart and little plastic pieces quickly disappeared into gutter.  No longer adjustable tied permanently.  The bottom rubber piece that prevents the water from being inhaled by swimmer gone fell out and caused heavy choking by one of my more experienced seniors.  It looks great out of box with the extra pieces for air restriction but horribly dissatisfied with its weak construction and disintegration upon first use.

  • 4/7/2015 New to training Snorkels ... this one is a great buy!

rating star By Abby Witt with Desert Thunder Aquatics

My daughter is almost 11 and this works perfectly for her, apparatis not too big for the mouth and perfect snorkel length out of the water while she swims.  (JR snorkel would be too short)  She is new to the snorkel, so it took a few laps to get the breathing technique without the water up the nose to work like it is supposed to work. But that was all user error, not the snorkel. The TYR Snorkel works great, she loves it and so far, albeit new, it is holding up well in these last two weeks of practices.  The mesh bag that comes with it is great for protection and keeping the tip pieces together when she doesn't use them.  This is a great product - keep up the quality work TYR!

    Ideal to train techniques

  • 7/23/2014 Snug snorkel - great for working out

    rating star By Karen Holloway-Adkins

I bought this snorkel because my previous one moved around too much (wider bore too). This one is stream-lined much better and doesn't move around when I pick up the pace or flip turn.

  • 6/8/2014 worthless

    rating star By Tom

The hard plastic portion of the head strap broke, replaced it with a finis head strap and then the purge valve fell out. lasted all of two weeks.
This is the second time I have posted this review, the first seems to have been deleted. We'll see how long this one lasts.
TYR needs to refund customers who bought poorly designed snorkel.

  • 5/24/2014 cheap head strap

    rating star By Tom

the plastic portion that holds the head strap to the snorkel snapped after two weeks of use. replaced it with a finis head strap and then the purge valve broke. doesn't look like the purge valve can be replaced, disappointing.

Founded in Southern California in 1985, TYR™ has since developed a reputation for high-quality products and equipment. TYR competition swimwear and triathlon gear have been a dominant force in their respective industries. The company is also known for its TYR goggles, swim apparel, triathlon wetsuits and a wide variety of swimming equipment.

TYR was the first company to introduce a pair of goggles designed to fit a woman's face (the TYR T-72). TYR was also responsible for the famous red bathing suits featured on the hit television series "Baywatch." TYR consults with current and former athletes when developing its products. Swimmers know that TYR is a leader in swimsuits, warm-up suits, and swim training equipment. The TYR Tracer Series is one of the most advanced technical suit lines on the market. The TYR Hurricane wetsuits and the TYR Torque collections include top-of-the-line suits for the competitive swimmer.

TYR has also moved into competitive running equipment. From running shirts to shorts, its apparel is designed with the runner in mind. Built with moisture wicking fabric and antimicrobial material, TYR running apparel is designed to give the athlete the most comfortable, dry clothing on the market.

The name "TYR" is derived from the Norse god of warriors, who is said to have embodied victory and glory. Much the same can be said about the athletes who started TYR. Executive Vice President, Steve Furniss, was an Olympian who competed in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Games, and captained the 76th U.S. Olympic Swim Team.
