  • 11/13/2013 not sized right

    rating star By colleen c.

Bought this suit for my competitive swimmer b/c she already has this Tyr suit in a different color and likes it a lot.  This suit does not even come close to fitting properly.  Returning it.

    rating star By Denise

Knew this was a smaller cut suit but my daughter is thin & I thought she'd have enough coverage.  Boy was I wrong!  Going up a size would only make the straps too big.  Returned for something else.

  • 8/4/2013 Great for outdoor swimming

    rating star By Glassonyon

I use this suit for the outdoor swims so I get less odd tan lines. I purchased this one size up and it covers enough to be appropriate. I usually wear a 28, but I got a 30. I'm 4"11" and 105 lbs, moderate curves. I get compliments on the suit all the time.

    rating star By Zebra_t

I swim for exercise 5 days a week. I used to be on a team and swimming (and swimming products) are a huge part of my life. I saw this suit on a girl at my local YMCA and knew that I had to have it. I loved the minimal fabric, and the high and low cuts.

I heard from other reviews elsewhere to consider buying 1 size up. I usually am a 34 and bought a 36. I am a tall thinner framed girl, with a smaller chest and an apple butt, and had no problem with the fit. I dont feel like Im going to fall out of the suit or that its too scandalous. It does have more drastic cuts and shows more skin, but thats partly why I bought it. I think buying a size up is a good choice.
The only thing I dont like is the whole suit is lined. To me lining makes the suit feel heavy but thats just my opinion.

  • 7/13/2013 Too Small even for tiny Girls

    rating star By sara c.

Gorgeous suit and when I saw too small I ordered a size larger in a 30. My daughter swims everyday for practice. I ordered this because being polyester I hoped it would last. She is 5"3 85lbs usually a 28 in funckies or splish. I ordered a 30 and it barely covered her 12year old butt cheeks. Every disappointing to say the least. I couldnt let her out of the house in it.

    rating star By Aware

Going back, pronto! This is just too scandalous, & I'm normally ok with a smaller cut suit. The side cuts are too deep, the front is cut too low & the straps feel like they'll stretch after one wear. The pattern is cute though...

Ran much to small and short.  Not true to size

  • 12/8/2012 Cute Suit - Tiny Bottom!

    rating star By mm

Cute suit but it is called "Thin-X Fit" for a reason - there is not much to the bottom.  My daughter is tall and thin.  First, we bought her regular size but she felt self-conscience in it so we exchanged it for 2 sizes bigger.  She still felt there was not enough coverage and we returned that one too.

  • 9/25/2012 Didn't work for me

    rating star By bummed

Over the past few years, I’ve much preferred TYR’s Thin X suits over the Nike Cut Out suits. They are made of higher quality materials, are fully lined, and are a bit cheaper. However, it seems that this year these suits have changed. The straps are no longer described as being made from “heavy gauge rubber” and they have a lot more stretch to them.  It also seems like the chest is cut a bit lower too (the second set of stock photos above are more accurate).  So that combined with the much stretchier straps causes it to slip down and ride low over my average-sized chest.  The top does not stay in place at all for me and I’m always pulling it up for fear that I might pop out of it. I am only 5"4 and my torso is short, so I don't know how this suit would work for anyone taller!  This was not a problem for me with the older suits, so I’m totally bummed.  In terms of sizing, it does run small.  I personally stick to my normal size and tough it out for a few weeks until it stretches to a comfortable fit.  If you’re taller or on the larger end of a size I would definitely size up.
