This is my 2nd. River Guide Hat. 3rd. Sunday Afternoons large brim hat. #1reason is I haven't found a better wide brim hat. I do lawn maintenance and landscaping in Central Florida for a living and need the features of a Sunday Afternoons hat. #1 a brim all the way around wider then 3.5 ", #2 the brim doesn't flap in the breeze blocking your eyes, #3 an opposable brim, #4 light weight. Only bad thing, the thin material on the top of the hat is easily torn on by low hanging tree branches. That's why I had to replace the last one..thin material doesn't allow to sew or patch a tear. I ordered a XL the second time and I like the additional room over a size large. Because my head feels cooler w/ additional room. More ventilation holes would help.

Great hat will serve me well working outdoors throughout summer in Colorado. Bummed the item delivered did not match the picture with decorative braided headband instead I received a solid black band. No worries though the hat will still keep the sun off my melon.

Favorite Sunday Afternoons hat. I'm a fair skinned guy who loves the outdoors, so I take my hats seriously. I like the River Guide hat because it's brim is stiff enough to take a fair amount of wind even though it's huge and gives really good coverage. The hat is also really comfortable.
