  • 9/17/2013 Great racing suit!

    rating star By BBJ

I have purchased two of these suits for my daughter who is now 12.  The first one we got when she was 10, and it lasts longer than any other technical suit she has worn.  (The suit never really wore out, but the "Speedo" logo did come off.)  The one point I would make about sizing is that this is a "youth" sized suit.  The fit is considerably tighter than a regular sized adult suit, which is very good for competitive swimming but should be taken into account when ordering.  This suit works best with a flatter chest and narrow hips.  If you have a more developed body, I would recommend the regular Fastskin 2, which is sized for an adult female.

I got this for my 10 year old daughter for state swim meet.  Wasn't sure about size, she had a size 22 that we bought one year ago and she wore that through an entire swim season and two state meets.  I went back and forth between getting another 22 or going with a 24, and ultimately got the 24.  She needed help getting the suit on the first time; she is on the small side, but needed help getting it pulled up over her rear end.  Once she got in on, it fit perfectly.  We probably could have squeezed her into a 22 but she was happy with how the  24 fit; it was plenty tight and she should be able to use it for the next year. She has been wearing size 26 for practice suits.

Great price for a competition suit.

  • 1/22/2014 Great suit

    rating star By Wendy R.

Bought this for my 9-year old daughter. She thinks its great and is really swimming well in it. She wears a 26 or 28 in workout suits, but got a 24 in this suit. It is definitely tight, but that's the way it is supposed to be. Comes up higher on the hips and rear end than a regular suit. I would definitely recommend it.

  • 1/6/2014 First Tech Suit

    rating star By swim

This was my first tech suit. I got it because I was going to my first big meet and I dropped time in every event. HUGE amounts. After about 4 uses, it started to become a little less buoyant, but was still an amazing suit. It is lightweight. I wore a 30 at the time in my practice suit, and the sizing chart said a 28, so that's what I got. I didn't know anything about tech suits and I had no idea that they were supposed to fit super tight. Now I am a size 28 in a practice suit and would order a size 24 in a tech suit. Overall this has been a great suit for meets. I've had the same one for 1.5 years, and am noticing between the chest it's thinning out a little bit, but that's common with wear and use.

  • 11/29/2013 Sizing issue

Started with suit that was suggested by fit matrix.  Too small. Ended up with same size as her practice suits that are a tad tight.

My parents surprised me with this for Christmas after I joked that this is what I wanted. I thought there was no way they would buy it for me.  But they did.  Since they didn't want me to find out about it, they couldn't ask me my suit size so they looked at the boxes from my most recent practice suits, which I got in a size 30. Thats what size they got me.  Tried it on and it fits good, but could be much tighter.  It wasn't too difficult to get on but was tighter on me in the bottom than in the top.  Returning it for a size 28 like all my other competition suits but am a little nervous the bottom will now be too tight, even if the top fits better.  (I am 18, 5'3", 120 lbs, size 3/4 jeans, and 34C if that helps anyone make a comparison. I know I always look for that type of info when reading others' reviews)

  • 12/9/2013 Fastskin 2 record breaker

My 11 yr old of average build has worn size 24 in both the Aquablade and FS 2. This junior suit was way too tight and uncomfortable in a 24. Getting an exchange. Love the fast shipping tho.

  • 11/15/2013 Great for youth!

rating star By Swim Fly Mom

My daughter is 12 years old and slender. She wears a size 28 practice suit, and wears a 22 in this suit. It is tight and challenging to get on, but comfortable after it's on. She got nearly 2 years of wear (swimming 10 - 12 meets per year) from her first one which was a size 20. This is a great, economical competition suit for youth.
