  • 2/27/2015 Best Wetsuit I've Ever Had

    rating star By Central Calif

I like the material used by O'Neil. Always my preference above rigid ripcurl and baggy billabong. I have had about 7 O'neils for women and one jr. boys. It's a little big in the butt, unless you have a big one, and tight on the shoulders, because girls who surf usually have swimmer shoulders. Swimmer shoulders is an ongoing battle when buying clothing for the surfer girl. This particular model is my favorite. I like the full leg because of low tide rocks and the sleeveless look allows for better movement paddling. And plus my arms are bare and I look good. Kinda catwoman of the sea.

  • 10/16/2015 nice wethead

    rating star By Margie

The wetsuit is very nice.  Not bad to get on I put a lot of baby powder on it..  But when I come out of the pool I can take it off until it comes to my feet.  I only wear a 5 1/2 shoe and I weigh 115 lbs. 5 ft. 2 ".    It's baggy in the theighs and it's too long.  I had to cut the length of it by an inch.  I certainly would not want a wetsuit that was bigger/thicker than a 1.5  u would never get it off.   But I am keeping it because thats the 4 th wetsuit I ordered.

Jack O'Neill began surfing in 1952, before functional surf apparel was invented. While working for the Army Air Corps, O'Neill discovered neoprene foam in a DC-3 airplane. He then combined the neoprene carpeting with duct tape to create the first neoprene wetsuit.

Demand for O'Neill's neoprene wetsuits grew rapidly and he began a business selling the O'Neill wetsuits out of his garage. By 1980, he was a leader in the beach apparel industry with a thriving business. Since then, O'Neill™ has become a widely recognized and respected brand in the surf industry, continually creating new and innovative products. In addition to O'Neill wetsuits, they carry O'Neill boardshorts, O'Neill dresses, O'Neill hats, O'Neill rash guards, O'Neill swimsuits, O'Neill water shoes, O'Neill sandals, O'Neill life jackets and O'Neill t-shirts.

In addition to his business success, O'Neill also created a non-profit foundation for kids. O'Neill developed the O'Neill Sea Odyssey Program: a free, educational cruise that introduces kids to the microbiology of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary, beginning at Jack O'Neill's doorstep.
