I went and got fitted for shoes (I pronate)- bought Saucony.  I had foot and back pain.  After research, I bought these minimalist shoes.  Took some getting used to- had to strengthen my ankle muscles, but I never had any more pains!  I'm told its because you run more naturally for your body.  They are EXTREMEMLY light weight and I love that I can feel the road/trail and how my foot hits the ground but rocks don't hurt!  If I HAD to pick a downside, it's that my feet get a little colder in winter- but (upside) they are cool in the summer! These are my "got-to" shoes now!

Working out at the gym and have a stylish shoe and the sweet like glove shoe...very comfy but they did not hold up to the requirement of 'support'.

knees killing me my trainer said I was turning my arches in and causing the knee pain.

truth be told i got an inflammatory drug and in 3 weeks time I could walk run and jump without pain.

could be my 68 yr old knees but my instep did turn in.  bought the old timey new turning in. good support as soon as my workout was done I wanted them off support good comfort yes for walking and running but I found that they were too stiff.

From its humble beginnings, Merrell has grown into a well respected active footwear brand. In 1981, Randy Merrell created his first boots. Those boots were deemed the best ever made by his customers. Soon after, word spread about Merrell's comfortable go-everywhere boots. Backpacker Magazine named them "the most comfortable and functional boots in North America."

In 1989, Merrell went global. First introducing its boots to the U.K. and then spreading across Europe. The company's staff grew and so did its customer base. In 1995 Merrell joined with Vibram® to introduce its lightweight, long-wearing and flexible soles into Merrell's high-performance footwear.

Merrell recently celebrated its 30 year anniversary with the launch of Merrell Origins. The brand and its partnership with Vibram® has continued with the launch of Barefoot, a collection of low-profile, 0mm heal drop shoes for all your outside adventures.
