I really like the mat.  It is very ample and oversized--nice.
It rolls up tight and has a high quality texture and natural feel and good grip.
I didn't like the strong smell produced by the natural rubber when I first got it but I let it air out for about a week and it is fine.

This yoga mat is good, but what is with the strong smell? Cannot get it out.  I used for a class it stunk up the whole class like a strong rubber or plastic smell- very distracting for.  I would stick with Jade.

I'm new to yoga, so I don't have alot of experience with better quality mats.  I like this one, but am still "breaking it in" as I'm slipping on it a bit at this point.  I think it will be great once I've used it more...definitely like the extra padding compared to some cheaper mats.

I have used my mat a few times now and what a difference it has made in my practice. I no longer need to put a towel down to keep me from slipping around.  It gets a little slippery but not too bad. It had a very strong rubbery smell when I first opened it but after about two days of keeping it open and airing it out that is no longer a problem.   The thickness is just perfect. I was so used to having my knees hurt on my last mat but not this one. I really love this mat and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to better their yoga practice.

What I love about my mat is the texture. It's never too sticky or too slippery. I can grip comfortably.
It cleans nicely. In the first 2 weeks it can small a little rubbery, but that smell goes away.

My wife really loves this mat.  It was a little slick and rubbery smelling at first, but three weeks of daily usage, cleaning, and storing unrolled have eliminated both issues.  The material is soft but supportive.  She is very satisfied.

ABOUT THIS BRAND

Manduka

Founded at the turn of the millennium, Manduka® has always been a company that put its customers and the environment above all else. Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, stumbled upon a simple, yet elegantly created mat that completely revolutionized the way he practiced yoga. This revelation was the inspiration for the whole Manduka yoga line.

Sterios' creation would not have been possible without the help of his generous yoga teachers. As a form of appreciation he sent a mat to many of the yoga teachers he admired including Rod Stryker, Erich Schiffmann, Victor Van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. As a traditional practice in yoga, these teachers shared these mats with their students and from there the word spread.

Manduka, derived from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana, is named as a tribute to Sterios' yoga mentor, Shandor Remete. The delight he took in hearing the word roll of his tongue helped him solidify the faith he had in his new company. From there the joy has spread to over 35 countries worldwide.

More than anything though, Manduka's commitment to quality and sustainability is unmatched in the yoga industry. Every detail and every decision is made with sustainability in mind. Manduka wants their customers to not only find peace with themselves, but their environment as well. Products like the Manduka eKO Lite Yoga mat, the eQua Hot Yoga Towel, demonstrate just how committed they are to sustainability.

Manduka understands that yogis of all levels come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share similar core values. Beyond just being eco-friendly, is the spirit and wisdom that yoga teachers and their students emanate. Yoga is more than just exercise on a mat, it's a way of life. Manduka embraces this idea and lets it shine through all their yoga products.
