I bought this to wear while cycling because of the high visibility bright florescent trim and contrast stiching. This shirt looks great and feels very comfortable while riding in 80+ degree temps due to the lighweight of this wool and the eyelet fabric detail under the arms and back of the shoulders. even when I get soaked with sweat I dont get that sufficating feeling like i do with the cotton shirts that I have. I love icebreaker wool shirts wish I could afford to buy a whole drawer full of them! I am 6"1" and ordered the 2xl the fit is a little breezier than other 2xl sizes I have ordered so the cut must be less trim,so keep this in mind if your looking for a cling tight cycling shirt. As far as durabilty goes I have similer icebreaker wool shirts that are 3 yrs old and still like new just wash on cold regular liquid detergent gentle cycle and hang dry.
Fit: Feels true to size

I Love this Shirt!
I am a huge merino wool fan and this Icebreaker shirt does not disappoint. It wicks sweat away from my body better than any polyester workout shirt that I have, dries quickly and best of all does not retain odor. It is simply amazing! The material is very soft, but I did notice a slight bit of itchiness when the shirt was brand new. The slight, and I do means slight, bit of itchiness has seemed to dissipate after a few wear and wash cycles. The only minor complaint I have is that the collar is a bit wide. It is not so large as to be an issue, but I would personally prefer the neck to be a tad bit smaller. I am slowly but surely upgrading my wardrobe with wool shirts as I can find them on sale. At retail price they are a bit pricey, but when compared to over-rated polyester sports shirts, these merino wool shirts are well worth the price of admission! Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great wool shirt.

An American girlfriend introduced Jeremy to Brian Brackenridge, a merino sheep farmer she’d stayed with while hitchhiking around New Zealand. Across the table, Brian threw Jeremy a prototype thermal tee-shirt made from 100% merino wool: this was the beginning of Icebreaker.
Jeremy, then skeptical about the wool prototype was astonished to find that the material felt soft and sensual, looked lustrous and was totally natural. At first he sought to sell enough of the prototype fabric to visit his American girlfriend, but when he wore the tee-shirt outdoors, he became so enthusiastic about the fabric's potential, he never saw his girlfriend again. Instead he began working on a business plan to develop the world's first merino layering system for the outdoors.
Sir Peter Blake, a Kiwi yachting hero, wore a prototype Icebreaker top and leggings for 40 days and nights in a row while setting a world circumnavigation record. His enthusiastic (and free) endorsement gave Jeremy the confidence to throw everything he had into launching Icebreaker.
Since then, the Icebreaker apparel system has grown to include underwear, mid layer garments, outerwear, socks and accessories for men, women and kids. Icebreakers can be found in 3,000 stores in 43 countries. The company is based in Wellington, New Zealand, but we also have offices in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
