Looks cool! Great watch !
I bought this watch to keep time while at work. I work 14 hour days on the ocean and needed something durable. This watch has so far been perfect for my needs. In the beginning, the strap was causing problems because the fabric slowly pulls out and loosens the watch. I was having to tighten it every few hours in order to keep it in place. Also, when the watch became wet this was more of a problem. So I sewed a couple stitches on the band to keep it in the position I wanted and it's been great. Also, I find it easy to put on myself without help. Another review mentioned that you needed two hands to clip the watch. That's likely true if you've never put a watch on yourself before.

My mom bought me the original one of these watches back when I was in 8th grade (late 80's). Back then, I think it only cost about 5 or 10 dollars. I wore it almost daily. Let me tell you, that watch went through hell! It really took a beating, and it worked great all the years I had it. I finally lost it during a move my first year of college. I now own much more expensive watches, but I had to order one as soon as I saw that they were still around. Still the same great watch I remember!
ok but not great
The watch itself is ok, but I don't like to have to push a button to see the date, and would rather have it displayed with the time. The band is enormously difficult to adjust and won't stay adjusted. The band clasp is cheap and difficult to close with one hand (by myself). I had to put a stitch or two in the band to keep it from slipping and coming loose. For the price, it's an ok watch and I like that it's waterproof, but overall wouldn't buy another.
This is a cool and unique watch; seems quite durable too. If you make the band tight it does loosen a bit, which is weird because it is a watch for active folks, but doesn't keep loosening.
It takes 2 hands to easily clip the band. That's kinda hard when you're attaching the watch to the wrist of one hand. So, either you need the patience and the skill to try and clip it with 1 hand, or a "watch buddy" to clip it for you......

Five years ago, a couple of surfers noticed there wasn't a watch that could stand up to harsh surfing conditions, and they decided to change that.
What started out as a wrist wallet company, quickly evolved into Freestyle, a surf watch brand that produced the first ever surf watch- The Shark. Dominating the surf industry, The Shark's reputation for durability and excellent water resistance made it an instant staple for legendary surfers Kelly Slater, Lisa Anderssen, Mark Foo and Mike Stewart.
Today, Freestyle's diverse collection includes performance and lifestyle watches in addition to athlete designed, signature pieces, retro-influenced styles like Capitan and the functional Tide 2.0.
