To make this record breaking suit, Speedo scanned the bodies of 400 elite swimmers and turned to medical experts to ensure their suit maximizes the potential of the human form. Engineering experts helped develop a fabric called the LZR PULSE that not only repels water and chlorine but also offers 5% better oxygen efficiency than any other lightweight suit on the market. With the fabric perfected, Speedo’s Aqualab worked with specialists at NASA to reduce drag and guarantee the LZR RACER was the sleekest yet. Her striking design on the side panel of the suit incorporates the character “kokoro” meaning Heart, Mind, Spirit, by celebrated Japanese calligrapher Inoue Yu-ichi.
