Tempo Trainer does what it says it will do. Plenty comfortable under your cap, and yes it does float.

Unfortunately, this product hasn''t worked for me. The literature advises using with a swim cap, but swim caps are very uncomfortable. I developed a headband to hold the temp pro directly over my ear only to find that I could not hear the tempo tone under water. This product needs a volume control as well as a successful way to mount the temp pro without having to use a swim cap. Unless or until these improvements are made this product is a total waste of money.

I have used the TT Pro about 20 times now. It works as advertised. I haven''t tried all the different functions. I pretty much just use it to set a tempo to swim to. It is much easier to use that my previous TT. The buttons make it easier to adjust the timing.

ok this thing really works and is easy to use. the floating feature is handy since it fell out of swm cap the second time I was using it (my fualt). Also helps with pace. I thought I was swimming a consistent pace until I got this thing, now swimming better pace. The beep keeps you from being lazy and makes you swim strong.

I am enjoying this device for my training to maintain and adjust stroke rate. I''ve not had it long enough to rate longevity. It does what is advertised. The buttons are a bit difficult to use when the device is placed under a swim cap.

Works well. Gives me a consistent tempo that i can use for swim, bike, and run training. Floats in the water so its easier to find when it falls off. Wish it had a volume control because it can loud.

Weak battery compartment design |

It works great - when it works. I've read various complaints about dead batteries and dying units. I've had similar experiences with it stopping / resetting in the middle of a swim. I've had it "die" and stop working entirely - but the battery still has good voltage. I believe it is all because the battery compartment is poorly designed and the battery can shift around and lose touch with the side contact. After bending the side contact just a bit so it consistently touches the battery, all the above issues went away. I'm still on the original battery and it has stopped misbehaving in the middle of a swim.

I've used it for a month. I like that I bought the yellow one that floats in that I've lost it out of my goggles a few times..no problem..I like the mode 2 setting a time for my lengths..spurs me on..new to Master's Swimming it has been a good aid to me and i took a Gold and 2 Silvers for my age group in Senior Olympics 2 weeks ago!

see my prior review 3/20/12. It worked very well. Then the LCD display numbers got light and eventually there was no display at all. Figuring the battery was dead I bought a new one but no luck. Then I noticed some water droplets inside the case and a tiny crack around the lower right button which must have allowed moisture in. As it was not dropped the crack must have been from simply pressing the button .. a little weird, guess that area is weak and needs reinforcement. The good news is that I finally checked the old battery and it still had 2.9V (3V battery) after ?30 hours so battery life is not an issue... Still an improvement over the old model which simply did not work for me, but durability still an issue. 3.5 stars
