I upgraded to this mat from a 3mm Hugger Mugger mat. What a difference! It has great grip, cleans up well, and is very cushioned. I highly recommend spending the extra money, it''s amazing.

I will be using this mat 3-4 times a week for yoga class and already in my first class notice the non slipping and comfort that it has. It is worth the extra money to invest in a really nice mat. The new rubber smell has already gone away somewhat in the first week and has not been a issue. Thanks SwimOutlet for the fast service and great products with great prices

I am a yoga teacher so I hear a lot about mats and this one was well recommended. I bought it for vinyasa and ashtanga because it''s supposed to have good grip. It works great for me but my daughter has the same mat and when she gets really sweaty the grip isn''t as good. It''s also very firm so when we do lots of boats in ashtanga I have to pad my bottom but it doesn''t bother my daughter at all. So we both like it but each have one downside, thus the 4 stars. All in all it''s rubber and very well made so it should last for a long time which is a plus if you practice all the time like we do. It shouldn''t stretch or break down like a cheap mat. The firmness is nice for balance poses and it''s not too heavy to carry around. Several of my friends and students have these and also really like them. Which is why I got them in the first place. I have over a dozen mats and I honestly think there isn''t a perfect mat out there but this one is high on the list.

I am so trilled with my new mat. It prevents your hands from slipping during a downward dog or balancing postures. The width is also perfect - not too cushy and not too thin. This is my second week of using it and the new smell is still present, but has faded with each week.

I love this mat! I used to slide terribly, I tried gloves, towels, several different mats, but nothing seemed to help, but with the Jade mat I can really get into positions like down dog without worrying about sliding. I wish I had bought this mat sooner! It smells a little rubbery, but not too bad, and I think the smell will fade. Excellent quality for the price.

I only use Jade mats because they are durable, non-slippery and sticks to the floor. Yes, there are cheaper mats out there, they aren't worth it - you slip and slide on your sweat and they bunch up as well. .

I love this mat. It has a nice sticky, thick, surface made of natural rubber. it's durable but not prohibitively heavy to travel to class with. some people don't like the smell of the rubber, but I don't mind it, and it subsides eventually. My only gripe is that it is a bit short. I am by no means a tall person, but I still manage to come off the mat. It's not shorter than a normal mat, but for mats in the same price range, they typically come in a longer dimension.

I give it a one star. I sent this one back after receiving it because I found a small label that it contains latex. I am alergic to latex. Also I think for the cost the mfg should have included a strap or bag to carry the mat. I want to use my own mat at the gym and need a means to carry the mat.
