Suit is very comfortable but fits about a size too small; I would buy it again only larger
I am a fitness swimmer. This is my third Tyr nylon team trainer. Good fit, quality, and durability, and made in ther USA.
My husband needed to replace his old TYR 8" Nylon suit that he's had for _years_. He was really happy that this new suit is exactly the same fit and style as his old suit. Great for training.
I took the advice of many other reviewers and ordered a size up (I normally wear a 32" but I purchased a 34"). Also like many reviewers, this still resulted in the leg openings being fairly tight. However, once in the pool, I don't notice the tightness at all.The suit is actually two pieces (an internal brief and the outer square-cut) but the entire effect is really more like a wide brief).Otherwise, they are fine - I wear them 3 times per week and they get the job done. Nothing special but about what I was expecting.
Husband loves them!
While I wear a 38 waist, I ordered the 40 size to accommodate my thighs, based on other's reviews. True to the reviews, the leg holes on this suit are puny and constricting, but I'm a cyclist and mountain biker, so my legs are a little large. Otherwise, the suit is great.
So I'm a triathlete with a cycling history, so I have a bigger leg than most swimmers and long-course runners. Anyhow... I read the other reviews and took notice of the sizing (most others say its too small too), so I ordered a size larger... And, they're still too small. I'm guessing that if I ordered an even larger size that the waist would be beggy or loose, so I need to return and exchange for a different type. ps... they do look like granny panies ; )
This is a basic suit, not much to say, performs its function. It runs small. My previous suit was a TYR lycra square leg, so I bought the same size as that. The other fit fine, but this (TYR 8" Nylon Team Trainer) is definitely tighter and covers less of the "backside." Not that I am exposing anything, but it covers less. It also appears from the product image to be much more of a square leg than it really is. It seems like a cross between a brief and a square leg.
I swim laps. these fit right in the waist, but tight in the legs, and I don't have big legs.
Like other posters I bought it one size bigger than normal and it could fit all my bits and pieces in. It's still tight on my legs, but not uncomfortable. It did look like a old man's swimmer when I pulled it out of the package, but it works great as a trainer. It's super durable, I would highly recommend it. If you don't have much of bottom, then order your normal size.
