when i started looking for this, i did not know just what to get. i wanted a specific thing, not a wetsuit. i wanted something two-piece. since i already had my insotherm bottoms, all i needed was the top. i settled on the O'NEILThermo Rashguard, basically out of lack of options but it has worked out well. the biggger size gives me better range of motion in the water when i do my workout too.

Pros: Warm and light, fits well through shoulders, great for swimming, no buoyancy. Cons: Too short in torso. I wanted a shirt to wear swimming when the lake is a bit cold. This provides a decent amount of warmth, more than an ordinary lycra rashguard. I wanted a rashguard like this over one with neoprene because I didn't want any buoyancy -- wanted to feel the same in the water as not wearing one, which it is. Great freedom in the shoulders for swimming. The neck is actually pretty high, but not so high to be uncomfortable. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it. A medium fits me skin-tight, and I can just barely get it on and off, but this is just what I wanted for swimming. My chest is 40", waist 35", height 5'11"; it wouldn't fit anyone bigger than me. The one downside to this shirt is its length (and why I'm only giving it 4 stars and not 5). It is short in the torso. It could use another 2-3 inches of length. It barely covers my bellybutton. I would definitely not recommend it for anyone taller than me.

when i first got this i thought it was way too small, i could barely get it on but since i had nothing else, i figured i'd try it. once in the water, it practically disappears, no discomfort at all. well, ok, maybe the neck was still a teeny bit snug, but not too distracting. everything about it was better than the body glove rash guards i used before. it's much warmer, even though it's short sleeve. also, love the black on black. will definitely be buying the l/s version for winter. Chest, Neck and arms fits awesome. But I always find myself pulling down the waist of the shirt.

Nice & light. Easy to get on & off. Just enough insulation for Maui and good sunprotection. Easy to clean. Fit me true to size for an XL.
