  • 2/23/2014 No bad...

    rating star By PW

Good price for good quality.  Not great... but good.  Been using the TYR for years now.  However, I think it's time to give another brand a shot.

  • 12/2/2013 Almost perfect

    rating star By deepwhitewater

I ordered a  Large and it was very SNUG! I actually appreciated the snug fit: nothing was bouncing, it acted like compression gear, motion wasn't restricted, and no sore nips on the run. My only complaint was I chafed a little at the arm pits towards the end of the run. However, the back pocket was super convenient for putting ice in it!

  • 8/29/2013 TYR Competitor Men's Tri Singlet is Great!

    rating star By K. Dorman

I am very happy with the TYR Competitor Men's Tri Singlet. My brother purchased one and told me to order one size larger than the recommended fit size according to the chart. He saved me there. The size I ordered fit perfectly for a 5" - 9" male at 165 lbs. The Tri Top is very comfortable and breathes well, with a rear pocket that is large enough to pack my phone, spare tube, and goodies for the ride.

  • 8/20/2013 Great top, tight and fast on the bike.

    rating star By DAVID M.

Many say its to tight. It is and thats perfect if your looking for fast in the water and on the bike. Loose means drag. If it flaps its slowing you down. I'm 6"2" 210 or so. Lifter 44" chest and shoulder. Bought a large and I love it. Take some doing or help to get it on but once there it keeps you fast and prevents your pecs from bouncing around. Bleeding nipples suck after a long run. Just my opinion but a tri top needs to be tight if your performance minded.

  • 6/13/2013 Needed my wife to help me put it on and take it off

    rating star By Mitch L.

I'm a TYR swimsuit fan so I went wtih TYR for my first Tri Suit.  I also used the size chart which placed me at a medium.  Unfortunately it was way off.  I could barely put it on, let alone breath after a vigorous effort of putting it on (same experience as the other review).  I don't believe a large would have solved it because the fabric appears as though it's meant to be very stretchy.

First tri singlet and it was great.  Comfortable and no chafe!  Wore it for my first Tri (XTERRA) and had no problems.

  • 8/2/2012 Way too small! Mis-labeled size?

    rating star By Robert G.

I'm 6', 41" chest, 36" waist, 210lbs.  According to Tyr's size chart that should easily be a Large.  The Large I got was so small I literally could not pull it on over my shoulders, so I was never able to try it.  It was actually only slightly too big for my 8-year-old nephew who is small for his age.  This had to be a child's Large.

In addition, the fabric was odd.  It felt stiff, almost like paper, and you could barely breathe thru it, so not sure how cool or wicking it would be.  The lone rear pocket has only an elastic band holding it "closed".  Would this open and catch water during a swim?

Craig and Swim Outlet get top scores for handling my issue.  He said it's possible the size was mis-labeled at the factory and promptly issued a return for it hassle-free.  Would not hesitate to order from them again!

Founded in Southern California in 1985, TYR™ has since developed a reputation for high-quality products and equipment. TYR competition swimwear and triathlon gear have been a dominant force in their respective industries. The company is also known for its TYR goggles, swim apparel, triathlon wetsuits and a wide variety of swimming equipment.

TYR was the first company to introduce a pair of goggles designed to fit a woman's face (the TYR T-72). TYR was also responsible for the famous red bathing suits featured on the hit television series "Baywatch." TYR consults with current and former athletes when developing its products. Swimmers know that TYR is a leader in swimsuits, warm-up suits, and swim training equipment. The TYR Tracer Series is one of the most advanced technical suit lines on the market. The TYR Hurricane wetsuits and the TYR Torque collections include top-of-the-line suits for the competitive swimmer.

TYR has also moved into competitive running equipment. From running shirts to shorts, its apparel is designed with the runner in mind. Built with moisture wicking fabric and antimicrobial material, TYR running apparel is designed to give the athlete the most comfortable, dry clothing on the market.

The name "TYR" is derived from the Norse god of warriors, who is said to have embodied victory and glory. Much the same can be said about the athletes who started TYR. Executive Vice President, Steve Furniss, was an Olympian who competed in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Games, and captained the 76th U.S. Olympic Swim Team.
