I spent a long time trying to find a hot yoga mat that doesn't slip and learned there is NO mat that has enough grip to be sticky in a pool of sweat. This mat is great with a hot yoga towel and has plenty of cushion too. My towel actually stays put better!

Great yoga mat!
My yoga mat arrived quickly and was exactly as I expected. I have enjoyed practicing on my mat as soon as I opened the box. While people often mention how it has to be broken in, I have been happy with it since the first class I brought it to!
Great mat, fast delivery
Mat is as stated, delivery was timely.
I do hot yoga 4 times a week. My husband bought this mat for me as a Christmas gift and I LOVE it! Great quality, amazing grip and pretty color! Worth every penny.
Jady Manduka (in my opinion)
I know everyone RAVES about Manduka and how awesome it is and how it's the best mat - but personally, between this and Jade - I would pick Jade every time! Maybe because I haven't broken it in enough - I've been using it daily for about 3 weeks now but my Jade Harmony Pro didn't need any breaking in - I didn't slip and it had perfect gripping despite any sweat falling onto it. The Manduka was so slippery by the middle of the class that I had to use the mat towel on it (also by Manduka and it was amazing though). I don't want to buy an expensive mat and then have to throw another mat towel on top of it - and those can be just as expensive. I haven't tried scrubbing course salt over it like the company suggested but still - why am I having to do that on an already expensive mat when I can get what I need from a slightly cheaper company that doesn't need any breaking in? Again - I'm biased towards Jade now. Having bought the two of them at the same time I can really appreciate what the Jade offers and what the Manduka lacks. I know everyone loves it but as someone w/ a daily practice I need immediate results and guarantee that I won't suddenly slip and fall halfway through class because my mat isn't "broken in."
Yoga mat for life!
Beautiful color, wonderfully made. Love it already!
My mat is still a little slippery but I'm hoping it will improve in time. I did the salt scrub but it didn't help too much. However, my knees do not hurt like they did with the cheaper mats so that's a plus!

Good for Ashtanga
I've had my mat for a little over 3 weeks now, and use it 4-5x a week. I can already tell that the more I use this mat, the better it will be. It has the perfect amount of cushioning, though slips a little when wet. By the end of my practice, it's tough to grip my mat with my hands. Regardless, I think this will get better the more I use it.
Slippery at first
It is much more cushiony than my last mat, and my hands sliding has stopped after a couple of weeks of daily use (I'm a yoga instructor). I like that it isn't as heavy as the PRO, since I have to tote my mat to all the places I teach. I have a bad knee, and still double my mat over to protect it. I love the color, the smell resided after a couple of days of airing out. I think it will be a great mat, however, I have only used it a couple of weeks!
They aren't exaggerating about how it will be your 'soul mat'...
I have owned a few mats before, but this is the first one I am truly fond of. It is durable, good looking, and comfortable on the joints. Like all mats, if you have slick hands like me you will slide a bit at first, but that is reduced significantly by a month or two of steady practice (unlike many mats I've tried). I also appreciate that is is closed cell (bacteria don't seep in) and made of safe materials in a responsible manner. And you can't beat a lifetime guarantee. :)All-in-all, a fantastic product well worth every penny.

Founded at the turn of the millennium, Manduka® has always been a company that put its customers and the environment above all else. Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, stumbled upon a simple, yet elegantly created mat that completely revolutionized the way he practiced yoga. This revelation was the inspiration for the whole Manduka yoga line.
Sterios' creation would not have been possible without the help of his generous yoga teachers. As a form of appreciation he sent a mat to many of the yoga teachers he admired including Rod Stryker, Erich Schiffmann, Victor Van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. As a traditional practice in yoga, these teachers shared these mats with their students and from there the word spread.
Manduka, derived from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana, is named as a tribute to Sterios' yoga mentor, Shandor Remete. The delight he took in hearing the word roll of his tongue helped him solidify the faith he had in his new company. From there the joy has spread to over 35 countries worldwide.
More than anything though, Manduka's commitment to quality and sustainability is unmatched in the yoga industry. Every detail and every decision is made with sustainability in mind. Manduka wants their customers to not only find peace with themselves, but their environment as well. Products like the Manduka eKO Lite Yoga mat, the eQua Hot Yoga Towel, demonstrate just how committed they are to sustainability.
Manduka understands that yogis of all levels come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share similar core values. Beyond just being eco-friendly, is the spirit and wisdom that yoga teachers and their students emanate. Yoga is more than just exercise on a mat, it's a way of life. Manduka embraces this idea and lets it shine through all their yoga products.
