I am using them for water aerobics. They are very comfortable, have great support , and my friends comment on how "fancy" they look.
I do aqua aeorobics 3 x a week, and these are by far the best water shoes I've tried so far. Very comfortable, snug fit so your feet don't slip, and very lightweight. Plus, they dry much quicker than other water shoes I've had.
I take water aerobics and the Avia's have been great. I have had 2 knee replacements and the cushion is extremely important to me. The shoes have great support as well as cushion. I also swim with them on and they are light weight, drain well and don't add too much drag when swimming.....
The tongue of the shoe isn't long enough so that the laces slip under the tongue. Shoe feels really wide.
I have had Avia water shoes before and they support and protect my feet during shallow water exercise class. My last pair had velcro straps which I much preferred to the toggle straps on this new pair. A friend got the same style but they had laces (better I think). These are much better for the class than plain "water shoes" as those have too much "drag" (not enough holes for water to go through). I like the removable insole so they dry faster.
