From its humble beginnings, Merrell has grown into a well respected active footwear brand. In 1981, Randy Merrell created his first boots. Those boots were deemed the best ever made by his customers. Soon after, word spread about Merrell's comfortable go-everywhere boots. Backpacker Magazine named them "the most comfortable and functional boots in North America."

In 1989, Merrell went global. First introducing its boots to the U.K. and then spreading across Europe. The company's staff grew and so did its customer base. In 1995 Merrell joined with Vibram® to introduce its lightweight, long-wearing and flexible soles into Merrell's high-performance footwear.

Merrell recently celebrated its 30 year anniversary with the launch of Merrell Origins. The brand and its partnership with Vibram® has continued with the launch of Barefoot, a collection of low-profile, 0mm heal drop shoes for all your outside adventures.
